Mother McAuley (formerly known as Saint Xavier Academy) was the first Catholic high school in the City of Chicago. Since its founding in 1846 by the Sisters of Mercy, 24,000 young women have received a Catholic education from this prestigious institution. These young women were blessed with this education because people of all walks of life, like you, have loyally supported McAuley. As an important member of the McAuley family, we ask you to make a transformational gift to the 2012 Annual Fund to change the lives of our current students and provide a bright future for McAuley.
Your gift will be used to secure a structured means to help keep tuition affordable.
Please join us in our goal to ensure that our students receive an education that is inspired by excellent faculty and nurtured in a dynamic, faith-filled, and safe learning environment. The 2012 Annual Fund is the financial means to achieve this goal as it supports every aspect of the school’s operations. Your gift will move us toward closing the “Gap” between actual educational expenses and what the school charges for tuition. Currently, tuition covers 87% of the operational cost—the school’s investments and fundraising, including Annual Fund gifts, cover the remaining 13%. Closing this “Gap” is a critical need of our entire school family.
“Let charity then be our badge of honour…so that it may be truly said, there is in us but one heart and one soul in God.” (Catherine McAuley)
