There will be a Writing Club meeting today after school in Room 122.

Seniors – Please remind your parents about the senior parent meeting tonight at 7 p.m. in the Dining Hall.  This meeting is for parents only.

A reminder to all freshmen:  Applications for the Sheffieck Family Scholarship are due by 3:00 p.m. on this Friday, March 12.  Please check Edline or see Mrs. Klyczek for information and an application.

A reminder to all Gallagher Scholars:  Your participation is expected at this Saturday’s St. Patrick’s Day parade downtown.  You should have received information at homeroom today.  Please contact Mr. Tom Zbierski at Big Shoulders with any questions.

Volunteers are still needed to sell shamrock pins to support the Mercy Home for boys and girls at this weekend’s downtown Chicago St. Patrick’s Day parade.  Volunteers are needed from approximately 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.  For more information and to sign up, see the bulletin board outside the Service Office.  Please sign up by the end of the day tomorrow.

Attention Spring Appalachia group and all Appalachia alum – Don’t forget our movie after school today in Room 201.  Let’s work together to eat all of that pizza.

Fire up McAuley!  The water polo team will open their season tonight at home vs. Marian.  JV is at 5:00 followed by the Varsity.  Come out and support the Macs!

This message is for ALL Freshmen, Sophomores and Juniors….

Tomorrow at 3:00 there will be a Student Ambassador’s meeting in the dining hall.  This meeting is open to EVERYONE in the school.  If you are planning to apply for Student Ambassadors next year you must attend this meeting.  If you have a previous commitment please see Mrs. Riccordino in Room 102, or in the lounge before school, sometime before Thursday.  You can also send her an email.  The meeting will last until 3:45.

Seniors – Don’t forget to make your reservation for the Spring Luncheon and Fashion Show.  Also, remind parents about the Senior Memory Book.  Forms are due to the Main Office by March 12^th.

Today starts SADD Awareness Week.  It’s a time to learn about the destructive decisions people make and hopefully commit to making the right ones.  Today we start our homeroom poster contest titled, “We decide to thrive by …” Winners will be announced Friday and they will receive a breakfast party from Panera.  So have fun, get involved and hope you learn a lot.

Today is a very exciting day for McAuley Athletics.  Tryouts for Lacrosse will be held beginning at 3:00 p.m. in the Main Gym.  If you are interested in playing and have any questions please see Mrs. Jakubczak during the day or after school.  You did not have to attend any prior meetings or clinics to tryout.  Good luck girls!!!
