DEJARLD TO CARRY ON MCAULEY VOLLEYBALL LEGACY
DeJarld, a 1987 graduate of McAuley, is no stranger to volleyball at McAuley. She has worked side by side with Nancy Pedersen for the last 10 years as Assistant Varsity Coach and played on the McAuley team for four years under Pedersen’s direction. During her time as a student-athlete, the team won two state championships (1984 and 1985) and was ranked 2nd in the nation.
“It is a great honor to be named head coach for a program that I am a product of,” said DeJarld. “McAuley has been a nurturing environment for me and I hope to provide the same for the student-athletes I will be coaching.”
Prior to joining the McAuley staff, DeJarld coached at Maria High School in Chicago, Boylan Catholic High School in Rockford, and Saint Xavier University.
DeJarld has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Iowa.
