MCAULEY THEATRE CHAIR HONORED BY PEERS Patricia Haynes, theatre chairperson at Mother McAuley High School, was presented with the Award of Honor by the Illinois Theatre Association (ITA). Each year the organization gives an Award of Honor to one member and one non-member of the association. Haynes received the member award for her years of service to theatre in Illinois. I was thrilled and touched to receive this award from ITA, said Haynes. I have learned so much from working with and for this organization of theatre professionals. The opportunity to work with and know my fellow theater artists from across the State of Illinois has enriched my life and has been a reward in and of itself. Haynes has been a member of the Board of Directors for the Illinois Theatre Association for eight years and has held numerous roles in conjunction with the Illinois High School Theatre Festival including Associate Director of Play Selection, Associate Director of Auditions, Executive Director and Producer of the All-State Show. She is also President of the Board of Directors for Theatre Building Chicago. In addition to her work as theatre teacher and director at McAuley, she is the Founder and Managing Director of the 99th Street Summer Theatre, a community theatre program that presents two full-length musicals each summer. The Program is home to The 99th Street Theatre Kids Kamp, and a Performer’s Camp and Dance Camp for high school students. |
