Mother McAuley's Varsity Softball team  presented with HIGH SCHOOL SOFTBALL SPORTSMANSHIP AWARD BY SOUTH SUBURBS OFFICIALS ASSOCIATION (SSOA)

Chicago Ridge, IL -- The South Suburbs Officials Association has selected fifteen (15) area girl's softball teams from thirteen (13) High Schools as winners of its annual Softball Sportsmanship Awards.

One of the winners of the SSOA 2011 is Mother McAuley's (Chicago) Softball Varsity Team.
The Girls Softball Sportsmanship Awards focus on schools in Chicago's south suburbs and south side of Chicago and recognize the ones that provide a positive sporting experience for all - including the officials who umpired the games. It has been awarded since 2003 and was developed as part of the Illinois High School Association's "Sport a Winning Attitude" Program.
Officials from the SSOA select winners by using a comprehensive rating system that evaluates sportsmanship in three areas - players, coaches and fans from the spring 2011 season.
