FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Father and Son Play Lead Roles in the 99th Street Summer Theatre Festival Production of Footloose

In the course of human life, fathers and sons share many common interests and that is no different at the 99th Street Summer Theatre where Brian Rigg will share the stage this summer with his oldest son, Ian.  Brian has appeared in 99th Street Summer Theatre Festival shows since the second summer when he was a student at Brother Rice High School.  Since then he has appeared in such productions as "West Side Story," "The Music Man," "Guys and Dolls," "Anything Goes," "Singing In The Rain," "Pirates of Penzance,"  The City of Angels," "Oliver,"  "The Secret Garden," "How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying?," "The Pajama Game," "Oklahoma," "The Sound of Music," and "Beauty and The Beast."  Brian is a talented actor/singer who works as a videographer for ComEd so he is continually using his creativity.  Brian plays the role of Reverend Shaw, a father whose personal loss affects his relationship with his congregation, the town, his family, and this young newcomer to town.
His son Ian, the oldest of his four children, plays the role of Ren McCormick (the role made famous by Kevin Bacon in the movie version).  Ian will attend the University of Illinois in the fall pursuing a degree with a major in acting.  He is a "chip off the old block" as they say.  Ian began acting in the 99th Street Summer Theatre Festival Kids Kamp and has been in several shows as a kids kamper and as a high school student.  Most recently Ian played the role of the Phantom in "Phantom of the Opera," at Sandburg High School.  His younger siblings are members of the 99th Street Summer Theatre Kids Kamp and will appear in "High School Musical Junior" this summer.
Other families involved in the evening musicals include Julie and Tommy Schuberth, Hannah and Margaret Hayes, Patricia and Erin Haynes, Stacy Cunningham and her mom, Rose DeSantis, Mary O'Neil and her daughter Lauren, Hannah and Liam Gibbs and many more if you count all the Kids Kampers.  Truly, this is family entertainment for all.
The production of "Footloose" will be performed on July 7, 8, and 9 at 8pm at the Baer Theatre, 2150 W. 111th Street.  For information please contact Pat Haynes at 773-881-6512.
