Celebrating Black History Month: Ashley Nicole Russell '14

Ashley Nicole Russell is a music executive, artist manager, and Recording Academy® Professional Member whose career bridges entertainment, leadership, and community impact. Recently announced as the Vice President of A&R at DaiDrm, she continues to expand her work at the intersection of artist development, distribution, and strategic growth following the label’s joint venture with Create Music Group. A proud Class of 2014 graduate of Mother McAuley Liberal Arts High School, Ashley began her journey in the performing arts through musicals, choir, and live performances that shaped her confidence and creative foundation. Today, she works closely with emerging artists such as Amari Noelle and Shamon Brown Jr., known for their role on the hit television series The Chi, while serving on the GRAMMY® Member Engagement Committee, the MusiCares® Committee, and as a GRAMMY U Mentor—helping cultivate and empower the next generation of music professionals. Passionate about creating opportunities and amplifying diverse voices, Ashley is committed to building spaces where creativity and business align.

Ashley Nicole's advice to current McAuley Students: Never underestimate where your passions can take you. The same confidence you build on stage, in the classroom, or in leadership roles can translate into boardrooms, studios, and beyond. Don’t be afraid to take up space, ask questions, and pursue paths that may not look traditional. Stay disciplined, stay curious, and most importantly, stay rooted in who you are. Your authenticity will always be your greatest advantage.
