Mary successfully defended her doctoral dissertation on the interplay between HER3 and mutant KRAS in colorectal cancer in July 2025 and was granted her PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences by the University of Cincinnati. As of October 2025, she began a new position as a Staff Scientist for the non-profit Wood Hudson Cancer Research Laboratory in Newport, Kentucky, where she aims to continue her work on researching drug resistance in gastrointestinal cancers.
