Veterans Day Prayer Service - Mary Claire Youpel '08

Mother McAuley and Brother Rice gathered together for a meaningful Veterans Day Prayer Service. It was a powerful opportunity for our communities to express profound gratitude for the bravery, service, and dedication of our nation's veterans. We were especially honored to hear from our alumna, Mary Claire Youpel '08, ENS NOAA Corps and Executive Director, Veterans Multiple Sclerosis Alliance, who shared her story in the service and how she continues to support veterans in her non-profit. Mary Claire shared, "My time in the service shaped my worldview in profound ways. It taught me the importance of leadership, of standing up for others, and of putting service above self. Service begins with small, consistent acts of courage and compassion; which we learn here from service hours and giving back here at school. Just as Mother McAuley taught me to strive for excellence and uphold the Mercy values of compassion, courage, and leadership, my time in the service instilled a commitment to action, perseverance, and making a meaningful impact every day." Thank you, Mary Claire, for your service to our country and for inspiring our Mighty Macs everyday!
