This morning, we began our Lenten journey with an Ash Wednesday Prayer Service.
Reflections on service and the Critical Concerns of the Sisters of Mercy were shared by students and faculty who have done service work in other countries, at the border between two countries, in the rural countryside, and right here on the southside.
The Critical Concerns of the Sisters of Mercy focus us on issues of poverty, environment, immigration, racism, and non-violence. The service these women have done all touch on and connect with these concerns.
We will walk through Lent with these reminders as examples of what it means to live a life of Mercy.
