In honor of Black History Month, our Black Student Union and Alumnae Office have partnered to spotlight distinguished Black alumnae.
After graduating from Mother McAuley in 1983, Yolanda Petty '83 attended Illinois State University, Wilbur Wright’s School of Radiography, and Wilbur Wright’s School of Ultrasonography. Yolanda is actively credentialed in four modalities within Ultrasound and X-ray. In 2014, Yolanda started her company, Perception Plus Imaging Services, in Louisville, Kentucky. Just this month, Yolanda held the grand opening of her new 4D ultrasound studio for pregnancy located in downtown Flossmoor. Yolanda credits Mother McAuley for preparing her for life through diversity, friendships, and Christian values, as well as giving her the confidence she needed to succeed.
Yolanda's advice for McAuley students is to be diligent and persistent… and never forget to smell the roses along the way!
