Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month: Alejandra Alvarez Gates, Esq. '16

To celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, we are spotlighting Hispanic alumnae who are trailblazers and role models in our community. Today, we are excited to spotlight Alejandra Alvarez Gates, Esq. '16!

Alejandra Alvarez Gates, Esq. is a proud Mighty Mac alumna from the Class of 2016 and a graduate of Valparaiso University, Valparaiso University Graduate School, & New England Law | Boston. Alejandra currently works as an Associate at Alvarez & Marsal, advising M&A buy-side and sell-side clients on tax exposure. As a first-generation Mexican-American, she draws upon her background to help create meaningful impact in business for Hispanic entrepreneurs. Alejandra credits Mother McAuley for playing a pivotal role in fostering her intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, and love for learning.

Alejandra's advice to current Mighty Macs: Never be afraid to build your own door and walk through it - the only person who can set limitations on you is yourself.

Our Mighty Macs worked with the residents to make pumpkin centerpieces to give to families served through Pat’s Pantry. Our students and residents both had a lovely time getting to know each other while serving the community.

A Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration!

On October 10, our entire school community gathered together for a wonderful prayer service in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month organized by the Latinas Lead club. The service included prayers and petitions, student and faculty reflections, dances and musical performances.

Our Mariachi Club had the opportunity to play with the Latin Grammy nominated Mariachi Herencia de Mexico group! It was a great experience to celebrate the Hispanic culture and community.
