McAuley celebrates the commencement ceremony for the Class of 2023

On Sunday, May 21, the Class of 2023 donned their white gowns and received their diplomas, joining our community of more than 28,750 alumnae. These young women walked across the stage with a strong sense of self, an appreciation of our Mercy values, and gratitude for the friendships and experiences that will carry them through college and careers. Already accomplished, they possess the confidence and knowledge to achieve anything!

Infused in the liberal arts, Mother McAuley’s academic curriculum centralizes on six key interdisciplinary skills found throughout all disciplines — from Science and Math to English and World Languages to Music and the Visual Arts. The graduating seniors with top honors and distinctions are:

  • Ciara Hosty '23Valedictorian - attending the University of Notre Dame
  • Cathryn Schultz '23Salutatorian - attending the University of Illinois
  • Colleen Malloy '23, Sister Brian Costello Scholarship Award Winner - attending Xavier University
  • Eileen McInerney '23Student Speaker - attending Moraine Valley Community College

MMc & BR Band/Orchestra Nashville Trip

Mother McAuley & Brother Rice Band and Orchestra students traveled to Nashville over Spring Break for an incredible trip full of music.

Our Mighty Macs visited the Grand Ole Opry, recorded at RCA Studio B (the same studio used by Elvis, Dolly Parton, Chet Atkins, and so much more), performed at the National Museum of African American Music, saw Elvis Presley's Piano, and even spotted a celebrity along the way!

Daniel P. Haerther Scholars

Our Daniel P. Haerther Scholars went on a field trip to the Morton Arboretum! While there, students went on a scavenger hunt to explore and learn about its tree-filled landscape. They also met with employees from Morton to learn about career and internship opportunities! Thank you to our generous Haerther Trustees for hosting this great event - we are blessed!
