Daniel P. Haerther Scholars support Great Lakes

Great news for the Great Lakes!

Our Daniel P. Haerther Scholars wrote personal letters in support of the Shedd Aquarium’s nomination of the Great Lakes as Mission Blue’s first freshwater Hope Spot. We are proud of our scholars for playing a role in the designation!

The Great Lakes are the heart of the North American water system, they are a source of water for over 40 million people and more than 3,500 plant and animal species, many of which are unique to the Great Lakes. Designations like this help us gain the attention of leaders and policymakers to help protect our most precious waterways!
