Mercy Week 2025 Highlights

Mercy Week 2025 Highlights

This past Wednesday, September 24th, we celebrated Mercy Day, joining a global celebration to commemorate the day Catherine McAuley opened the first House of Mercy in Dublin, Ireland in 1827. For the past several years, we have expanded our celebration of Mercy Day from one day, to a full Mercy Week! Here are some highlights!

On September 22, we welcomed ValLimar Jansen back to Mother McAuley for a MIGHTY Mercy Week assembly that left everyone feeling inspired and empowered!

On September 23, our students, faculty and staff participated in a school-wide service project.

On September 24, we celebrated Mercy Day with our time-honored assembly! We heard from guest speakers, presented the Catherine McAuley Award, watched a skit from our theatre workshop students, and danced to Why We Tell the Story, a song that has personified Mercy Day since 1999!

On September 26, our faculty and staff showed Catherine McAuley's hospitality and served a "comfortable cup of tea" to our students during lunch periods.

It was a MIGHTY week celebrating our Mercy values.
