Mighty Macs Spring Athletics Wrap-Up

Softball

Mighty Macs Softball built something special this spring with growth and success at every level. JV battled all season long and picked up a huge win over De LaSalle, while Varsity stacked impressive victories over Loyola, Fenwick, Willowbrook, Evergreen Park, and DePaul Prep, along with a conference sweep of Resurrection. The season’s biggest moment came with a thrilling 15-7 victory over Nazareth Academy to claim the Regional Championship title. Congratulations to All-GCAC selections Kayla Syring and Makenna Juarez on an outstanding season!

Track & Field

Mighty Macs Track & Field kept the momentum rolling all spring long. Athletes consistently earned top finishes, broke personal records, and continued to push themselves to new heights. The team competed hard at the IHSA St. Ignatius Sectional and showed that the future of the program is brighter than ever.

Soccer

McAuley Soccer delivered another unforgettable season filled with big wins and historic moments. JV earned impressive victories over Marist, St. Francis, and De LaSalle while continuing to grow together as a team. Varsity made a championship appearance in the BodyArmor Series Tournament, placed 5th at the Windy City Classic, and captured the McAuley 2A Regional title with wins over Chicago Ag and Richards. The season was highlighted by a historic achievement as Calli Edwards became the first player in program history to score 100 career goals.

Lacrosse

Mighty Macs Lacrosse made noise across every level this spring. Freshman and JV teams showed tremendous growth and teamwork, highlighted by rivalry wins over St. Laurence, a McAuley Round-Robin Tournament championship for the freshmen, and a Providence Tournament title for JV. Varsity picked up signature wins over Montini, Fenwick, Lyons, Lane Tech, and St. Laurence before advancing to the sectional semifinals after defeating OPRF. The team finished the season ranked among the top 25 programs in Illinois.

Water Polo

McAuley Water Polo once again proved to be one of the top programs in the state and nation. JV finished with an impressive 10-1 record, while Varsity earned tournament titles and top finishes all season long, including a York Tournament championship and runner-up finishes at the Hersey Girl Boss Tournament and in conference play. The Macs wrapped up the year as Sectional Runner-Up, ranked 6th in Illinois and among the top 15 teams nationally. Sophomore Maggie Mulcrone and freshman Sawyer Boeschel each surpassed 100 goals this season, while Wyndel Ellis was named MCAC Senior Conference Player of the Year. Congratulations as well to all of our All-Sectional and All-Conference honorees for an incredible season in the pool!

Academic Success

Success in the classroom continued to shine this spring as 80 varsity Mighty Macs earned GCAC All-Academic honors. That total included 24 athletes from Track & Field, 23 from Lacrosse, 19 from Soccer, and 14 from Softball — a tremendous accomplishment that reflects the dedication and excellence of our student-athletes both on the field and in the classroom.
