Seven seniors commit to studying fine arts in college

On May 5, Mother McAuley proudly hosted our inaugural Fine Arts Signing Celebration in honor of seven senior students who committed to pursuing fine arts in college!

As part of the admissions process at the schools of their choice, these students had to audition and/or submit a portfolio of work. Please join us in congratulating the following Mighty Macs:

  • Sophia Chavez '26 - Theatrical Dance at AMDA (The American Musical and Dramatic Academy College of Performing Arts) & Fordham University concurrently
  • Mackenzie Crotty '26 - Music Education at Saint Mary’s College
  • Brigid Doherty '26 - Acting at Illinois Wesleyan University
  • Audrey Hart '26 (not pictured) - Communication Design at Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design
  • Juliette Heredia '26 - Music Therapy at Illinois State University
  • Abigail Hughes '26 - Studio Art at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign 
  • Giana Rivera '26 - Animation at Pacific Northwest College of Art

McAuley receives national recognition as a Premier Community for Theatre Education

Mother McAuley has been named a Premier Community for Theatre Education, a national distinction presented by the Educational Theatre Association (EdTA) to schools that demonstrate exceptional achievement in providing meaningful, high quality theatre education and access for all students. McAuley is one of only 15 schools to receive this three-year recognition, and the only in the Chicagoland area.

Two members of McAuley production of "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" named finalists in Broadway in Chicago's 2026 Illinois High School Musical Theatre Awards

Audrey Hart '26 was named a Backstage Finalist for Props Design & Management. Jonah Groff, who played the role of Joseph, was named a Finalist for Best Performer in an Actor Role.
