Faculty member and daughter raise money for St. Baldrick's

Brave the Shave

Our very own faculty member, Jamie Portal Guardi '95, and her daughter, Kate Guardi '29, braved the shave at the St. Baldrick's Event at St. Catherine's parish this past weekend!

Kate has been raising money for St. Baldrick's for seven years! This year, Jamie agreed to shave her head alongside Kate if she was able to raise $10,000 for St. Baldrick's. Kate surpassed her goal (raising nearly $13,000 this year!), and both Kate and Jamie shaved their heads together in support of childhood cancer research!

Over the past seven years, Kate has raised over $30,000 for St. Baldrick's. We are MIGHTY lucky to have such dedicated and compassionate women in our Mighty Mac community. Their commitment to making a difference is truly inspiring!

Pope Leo XIV and McAuley

What an incredible moment as Pope Leo XIV poses with a McAuley t-shirt! Our very own chaplain, Father Tom McCarthy, O.S.A., recently visited with Pope Leo XIV and shared a piece of our Mighty Mac spirit by presenting the t-shirt and heartfelt letters from our students, advocating for Catherine McAuley's sainthood.
