Artists place in local art contest

Three Mother McAuley artists participated in the Saint Elizabeth Seton Church Creation Care 2025 Art Contest, with two winning top prizes: Eliza Sweeney '25 won 2nd place and Georgia Martin '26 took 3rd place.

Saint Elizabeth Seton Parish and their Creation Care Ministry chose to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the late Pope Francis’ encyclical Laudato Si’: On Care for our Common Home by sponsoring a Cash Prize Art Contest with a Care for Creation theme. “Creation” includes: the Earth, the natural world, all living things, and that which supports life (in the spirit of Laudato Si’). This art contest was designed to allow the artists to share their vision of what it means to Care for Creation and inspire others to work towards a more environmentally sustainable future.

The art was displayed to the public in their church for 2 weeks after Earth Day.
