Please note, grade levels listed for each camp are for students entering those grades in the 2023-2024 school year.

Art Camp

McAuley Fine Arts Department Chairperson and art teacher Mrs. Kathy Gordon Davis, who is known to many businesses, schools, and individuals as an esteemed artist in the Chicagoland area, once again is offering Art Camp – a favorite experience among many young students! The camp encompasses two weeks of fun, creativity, and adventures in art. Through a variety of practice activities, individualized instruction, and creative projects, campers will develop drawing, painting, and sculpting skills and techniques.

Band Camp

Join the Brother Rice Mother McAuley Summer Band Camp for a rewarding experience including Marching, Performing, and Team Building. You will enjoy working with both the Mother McAuley and Brother Rice bands regardless of experience! Come join Mr. Zielinski, Mr. Eberhard, and the wonderful Brother Rice & Mother McAuley Band Students and make lifelong memories this summer at Band Camp!

This enrichment camp has hands-on, project based sessions that give girls the opportunity to explore in a creative environment and look at things in a new way. Each day will have a different theme with sessions in art, music, theater, creative writing, technology, science and cooking. The goal of our enthusiastic faculty and camp counselors is to make learning and problem-solving fun!

Performing Arts “Curtain Call” Camp

Become a star this summer! “Curtain Call” is 9 full days of musical theatre experience. Campers will rehearse singing, dancing and acting in preparation for the performances at the end of the camp! Kindergarten through 3rd grade will perform Jungle Book; 4th through 9th grade will perform Moana.

Photography Camp

Photography Camp will give girls an introductory, hands-on experience to explore the magic of traditional Black & White photography. Using 35mm cameras, campers will get to shoot their own photographs, develop film, and make their own prints within the darkroom. Campers will learn the basics of photography, and how to get the “optimal exposure” within their shots.

Stage Crew Camp

Strings Camp

Strings Camp is an opportunity for String players of all levels of experience to be part of a fun and engaging orchestra! Beginners will enjoy the excitement of starting a new instrument while experienced players will develop leadership. Violins, Violas, Cellos, and Basses are supplied to those who do not own a personal instrument free of charge.

Basketball

In his first season at McAuley, Coach Curtis Lewis and his staff will teach campers to sharpen their basketball skills appropriate for their age level and enjoy fun games, participate in competitive contests, and earn cool prizes.

Golf

This summer, golf campers can expect to learn some of the basics of golf including club grip, swing techniques, and proper club selection all according to their skill and age level. More experienced golfers will practice specialized putting skills and chipping and targeting techniques. Both camps include prizes and contests to help participants develop and improve their golf skills.

Lacrosse

Our coaches, led by alumna Annie Hopkins '13, will sharpen the skills of both younger and experienced lacrosse players. Collectively, the coaches bring diverse experience to the team including Division I playing experience and lacrosse coaching experience. During camp, participants will learn the rules of the game, practice and refine playing skills, and compete together through contests and team games.

Running

McAuley alumna Kelly Malone '07 returns for her 9th year coaching the Mighty Mac Cross Country Team. As a former standout runner, Coach Malone continues to instruct, challenge, and motivate runners to reach their potential. At camp, girls will learn middle to long distance running (0.5 - 3 miles), how to warm up and cool down properly, and proper hydration and nutrition.

Soccer

Under the guidance of coach and alumna Jenna Ryan '05 and her staff, campers will practice the fundamentals of soccer, build their endurance and learn the strategies of the game. As a Mighty Mac, she was named all conference 4 year in a row, all state her junior and senior year, and most valuable player for 3 years. She played Division 1 at the University of Wisconsin.

Softball

Campers will focus on improving fundamental skills in the areas of throwing, fielding (infield/outfield), hitting, bunting (sacrifice/bunting for a hit/suicide), base running, sliding, and diving. Athletes will leave camp with the knowledge of game strategy, their softball strengths, areas of needed improvement, and a better understanding of their true potential.

Volleyball

The Mighty Mac Volleyball program is led by head coach and alumna Jen Rees DeJarld '87, who through 15 seasons as head coach has led the program to multiple state tournament appearances. As a former Mighty Mac volleyball player herself, Coach DeJarld won two state titles and went on to play at the collegiate level at University of Iowa. Coach DeJarld and staff have designed McAuley volleyball camp to provide campers of all ability levels a rewarding and enjoyable experience. Campers will receive training in fundamentals, tactics, and technique in all skills in a challenging and fun atmosphere.

Water Polo

Under the guidance of coach and alumna Maggie Wood Bax '07 and her staff, campers will learn and practice the fundamentals of water polo through skills, drills and game strategy. Coach Bax is a McAuley Alum. She was named all conference, all sectional, and all state 4 years in a row. She was named team MVP her sophomore, junior and senior year, won state her senior year and was named MVP of the state of Illinois. Coach Bax played Division 1 water polo at Iona College.
