An important Message from Administration

As a Mercy school founded and sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy, we are called to act on the Mercy Critical Concerns, two of which include ending racism and practicing nonviolence. We echo the sentiments shared by the Mercy Education Systems of the Americas, our sponsoring network:

Mercy Education Systems of the Americas (MESA) stands in solidarity with those who have been shaken by the murder of George Floyd, the most recent victim in a tragic series of senseless violence against people of color. His deaths reminds us that racism remains a critical issue in our world today, and the ensuing violence that has erupted across the United States challenges us to strengthen our commitment to nonviolence. We stand with those who support and participate in peaceful protest, including religious, government, and civic leaders and organizations that are working together to bring about nonviolent communication in service of unity.

To accomplish this, we must "work for peace through prayer, education, and personal and communal practices of nonviolence." At McAuley, we recognize the need to improve in these incredibly important areas. Mother McAuley must be a safe place where we can learn and where we can celebrate our cultural differences. We must and will honor the dignity of all individuals and work together to put an end to racism and inequality. It may not have been this way at McAuley when you were a student, but we are committed to ensuring all current and future young women who enter our doors - especially those of color - feel safe, welcomed, supported, and celebrated.

Welcome Mighty Macs!

The Sisters of Mercy, our dedicated staff, amazing students, and YOU, our alumnae, are the true core of Mother McAuley High School. We are thrilled to have 27,000 alumnae who have received the Lifetime Advantage of a McAuley education! Each one of you are fearlessly making a difference globally, in our community, and right here on 99th Street.

We strive to develop events and programs for all alumnae to feel welcome to come back home to McAuley. It is here within these walls that your wonderful experiences transformed you and prepared you to be Future Ready. We hope you continue to partner with us by sharing your stories, sending your daughters, supporting our mission, and living Mercy every day. We are ignited by your spirit!
