Advancement Updates

On May 21, we held our Incoming Freshman Scholarship Night. We are filled with pride to announce that $694,000 in merit-based scholarships were awarded to the Class of 2027. Many of these scholarship are renewable, and will continue to support students throughout their four years at Mother McAuley. Congratulations to all the recipients. We are so excited for you to join our McAuley family.

As she was deciding where to attend high school, incoming freshman student Catherine Hedderman ‘27 did her research, including a lengthy conversation with her Great Aunt Kay (Kathryn) Neary McKeough ‘57, a member of Mother McAuley’s first graduating class. This discussion confirmed Catherine’s decision; shortly thereafter, her Great Aunt Kay excitedly and proudly received her acceptance news. The next step was to apply for the TRADITION OF EXCELLENCE SCHOLARSHIP awarded to legacy students. Catherine received the scholarship, but unfortunately, was unable to share that good news with her great aunt, the one relative with whom she would share this common bond. Kathryn Neary McKeough passed away unexpectedly on May 2, 2023, just three weeks prior to the Class of 2027 Scholarship and Awards Ceremony. Along with Catherine’s parents, her Aunt Kathy McKeough Murphy, Kay’s daughter, attended the ceremony and presented Catherine with her mother’s McAuley Class ring from 1957. The McAuley Ring symbolizes a community that bonds you with a sisterhood filled with traditions, a McAuley spirit, and a heart of mercy and compassion that is our shared legacy.
