Principal's Corner
Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s),
It's a busy month of November full of student activities! Tonight, the Mighty Mac volleyball team plays in the SuperSectional game versus Willowbrook at 6:00 p.m. in McAuley's big gym. Tomorrow, swimming and diving compete in Sectionals at Sandburg High School. The basketball team completed tryouts and are just embarking on their new season this week. Meanwhile, the cast and crew of our fall musical, Meet Me in St. Louis, continue to put in long but energetic hours preparing for their debut on November 18 - 21. Buy your tickets online and enjoy this incredible show!
In addition to these events, student clubs and organizations are equally busy! A special thanks to National Honor Society who organized the Fall Festival to raise funds for Misericordia. Several clubs have fundraisers and charity drives throughout November and December to help those in need. It's wonderful to see McAuley students spreading that mission of mercy all over Chicagoland!

College Counseling
Seniors We are excited to announce that 95% of the Class of 2022 met the November 1st application deadline and have applied to college! Now that November 1st has gone and passed, we hope that the senior class can relax and enjoy the rest of their senior year. Note: Students are still able to apply to colleges and request transcripts. Once students apply to a college, it is recommended that they create a username and password for each individual college portal. Students should check each portal on a regular basis. Colleges will communicate with the student via the portal about their acceptance status, any missing documents, and financial aid. If a student receives an automated email from a college explaining that documents are missing, the student must contact the admissions office and speak to an admissions counselor to confirm.
Juniors ACT Prep Last spring, a practice ACT was administered to the Class of 2023 to give students a baseline score for college readiness. Each student was given their score report and a conversion chart to calculate their composite score. Students can see Mrs. Arquilla in the counseling center to access their login information. All students were sent the conversion chart and the tag explanations via their counseling google classroom. We recommend that all students stop by the counseling office to pick up their login information.
Test Stronger Mrs. Novosel will begin her second session of in-person ACT preparatory for the February ACT. Class begins at the start of January. Visit https://www.teststronger.com/ for more information.

All Saints Day
We celebrated All Saints Day with a wonderful mass presided over by Fr. Mark Walter. This mass gave us an opportunity to remember those angels who have gone before us, as well as appreciate those who walk among us.
Not-So-Haunted House
We had a spooky time at our annual Not-So-Haunted House! Thank you to all that joined us!

"Live from the Heart"
Anatomy and Physiology students took an in-school field trip to the Auditorium for "Live from the Heart". Students watched live footage of heart surgery. They were able to talk to the surgical team and learn about heart health and careers in the medical field. Such a great experience! Thank you to The Museum of Science and Industry and Advocate Christ Medical Center for this opportunity!

The National Honor Society hosted McAuley's annual Fall Fest at the end of October! Each year, McAuley partners with Misericordia to raise money for their amazing organization. Misericordia is an organization to support adults with developmental disabilities.
