McAuley allows girls to explore their creativity and express themselves artistically. Our state-of-the-art facilities, equipment, and esteemed faculty provide the perfect environment for our girls to gain the confidence to star in our musicals, build sets for our productions, design our yearbook, decorate our hallways with original artwork, and fill out hearts with music.
McAuley fine arts students have been recognized at the national and state levels.

As part of McAuley's liberal arts curriculum, students are exposed to the fine arts. During freshman and sophomore years, they are introduced to the arts through beginning level classes and participate in fine arts clubs and activities. As juniors and seniors, students have the option of taking higher level courses.

For over 10 years, Mother McAuley Advanced Placement Art students have participated in the Memory Project, which invites high school students to create heartfelt portraits of children living in orphanages around the world. Over the summer, the portraits were delivered to children in Cameroon, and the video below shows their joyous reactions to receiving the artwork.

The Future Macs are MIGHTY talented! We had the best time sculpting, painting, drawing, and more with all of you at our Junior High Art Workshop.
WOW, it was a MIGHTY special morning on 99th Street! ABC 7's Terrell Brown sang Taylor Swift with Acapella, sipped Starbucks in the Kitty Mac Cafe, played volleyball with the State Champs, crowd-surfed with MacNation on our turf field, and officially became a Mighty Mac when he threw on the M costume himself.
Our girls truly showed ABC 7 what McAuley is all about, and we did it all before the sun came up!

Congratulations to Kaylee Davenport ‘26 for winning the Western Golf Association’s BMW Championship Tunnel Mural Art contest. This artwork will be part of a mural on display at the 2023 BMW Championship August 15th-20th at Olympia Fields Country Club. Tens of thousands of golf fans will pass by the mural on their way to watch the top 50 players on the PGA Tour!

Our Technical Drawing and Computer-Aided Design (CAD) students entered the Chicago Architecture Center Newhouse Design Competition. The award ceremony was held at the Chicago Architecture Center this weekend. McAuley students swept the engineering category!

In the last week our Chorus, Band, and Orchestra all hosted their spring concerts. Each concert displayed beautiful music and our wonderful students’ talents!

A special cart ride just in time for the end of Theatre In Our Schools Week. This week we celebrated Erin Curran and Ava Petrowski, who were chosen to be members of the crew for the 2023 All State Theatre Production of Shrek the Musical!

Eleven of our talented artists were announced as Regional Scholastic Art & Writing Award recipients! The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards are the country's longest-running and most prestigious scholarship and recognition program for creative students in grades 7–12.
Congratulations Amanda Schuler ‘25 for being recognized as an All-State Selection by the Illinois Music Education Association! We celebrated this incredible accomplishment in classic Mighty Mac style with a cart ride! Amanda will be performing with the All-State Orchestra this weekend and we are MIGHTY proud!

Join our performing arts faculty for a Junior High Symphony Orchestra! No experience necessary. Instruments will be provided. Students will perform with the McAuley Symphony Orchestra at the Christmas and Spring Concerts. The cost is $100, which will cover the rehearsal sessions and performance apparel.
Join the McAuley Performing Arts faculty for a FREE workshop! You are invited to participate as a cast member, stage or tech crew member, or an orchestra member. Orchestra members should bring their own instrument and all levels of experience are welcome.

Mac Melody competed in the Show Choir Showdown in El Paso, Illinois on Saturday, February 19. They placed 2nd in their division and 8th overall, and Lydia Long ‘22 was the overall solo champion with her performance of “On My Own.”
On February 16, internationally recognized composer and teacher, Doug Spata, joined our Intermediate Orchestra class via zoom. Mighty Macs performed "Gauntlet," one of his original works, and Doug gave them some tips and tricks and shared his inspiration and experiences from throughout his career.
11 of our talented young artists were announced as 2022 Regional Scholastic and Writing Award recipients. These Mighty Macs were recognized by the University of Iowa’s Belin-Blank Center for their original works and received 16 Midwest Scholastic Art Awards!
Students lined the hallways to give a MIGHTY send off to seniors Sarah Heirdorn, Ally Howe, and Monica Alifantis as they are heading down state tomorrow for the All State Music Festival!
