DR. JULIET BRADLEY ‘86

Dr. Juliet Bradley ‘86 is a family physician whose medical career has been dedicated to caring for underserved populations. Through the years, she has practiced medicine as a physician in the Chicagoland area and internationally through medical mission trips, and has held academic appointments at Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine and Rush Medical College.
A graduate of the University of Notre Dame and Southern Illinois University School of Medicine, Juliet learned early on the importance of social service work. For more than 20 years, she worked at Chicago’s Cook County Hospital, whose mission is to provide quality healthcare to all patients, regardless of their ability to pay. During this time, she served as the lead physician of the Dr. Jorge Prieto Family Health Center in Little Village. While there, she led initiatives to support and empower patients, including co-facilitating a support group for Latina survivors of intimate partner violence; piloting a web-based diabetic registry clinical management tool; partnering with the Ambulatory and Community Health Network to obtain grant funding for Centering Pregnancy, a model for group prenatal care, and initiating Centering Pregnancy at Prieto; and much more.
After leaving Cook County, she volunteered as the medical director of the Centro de Salud Santa Clotilde in a remote part of the Peruvian Amazon for six months. This is the most recent in a long line of community service and advocacy. She has volunteered at the Majorie Kovler Center for the Treatment of Survivors of Tortue, where she performed forensic examinations on torture survivors in support of their application for political asylum in the United States; in medical mission trips to Mexico, Guatemala, and the Dominican Republic; took a break during her fourth year of medical school to participate in International Medicine, practicing in Eswatini, Peru, and India; and before attending medical school, spent a year teaching adult literacy and pre-school at an orphanage in Tijuana, Mexico. Her dedication to serving others is interwoven in all she does.
Juliet currently holds a faculty appointment at Loyola University's Stritch School of Medicine, as well as teaches family medicine residents at the Saints Mary & Elizabeth Family Medicine residency program. She serves on the board of “Through Our Own Eyes” and PlaySmart Literacy; has received numerous professional awards for her teaching, dedication, and commitment; has presented at national conferences; and has published book chapters, clinical evidence reviews, and personal medical reflections.
