Parent Club Information
The Fathers' & Mothers' Clubs give of their time and talents to enthusiastically support the mission of Catherine McAuley. Membership is open to all parents and guardians of Mother McAuley students and provides wonderful opportunities to make new friends and build lasting memories of your daughter’s time at McAuley. Both clubs plan and execute projects and events which benefit the school, students and families, as well as the surrounding community. Each year, the clubs underwrite the cost of the bus transportation to safely transport our seniors and their dates to the Senior Prom!
Both clubs meet on the following days for the 2022-2023 school year: September 7, October 13, November 10, December 8 , January 12, February 9, March 9, April 19 and May 11

The Mother's Club will host their annual Graduation and Prom Dress Resale on Saturday, January 28, 2023. Anyone interested in selling or donating their dress, you may drop it off at Mother McAuley on Saturday, January 21.

The junior class attended their College Kick-Off!
Members of the senior class facilitated a student panel to provide advice, tips, and words of encouragement to their peers about the college application process. They will begin reflecting on personal interests associated with future majors and researching college criteria in order to create their college list.

This year we began a new program with our neighbors at Mercy Circle, Macs with Mercy. Each month, one of our clubs or organizations gathers with the residents at Mercy Circle and to do an activity. So far our Student Government, Black Student Union and Science National Honor Society have participated.

Our College Counseling Department in partnership with the Alumnae Relations Department have created a new panel series for students to prepare them for their future careers. Our Campus Ministry organized a Veterans Day Drive in November thanks to freshman Naomi Cordova. Naomi is a member and the Junior Representative of the Marrs Meyer Post 991 American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and she proposed this drive be a collection specifically to help female veterans in need.

Mother McAuley hosted a recognition rally to celebrate the team's accomplishments this season. Escorted by members of the Chicago Police Department and Chicago Fire Department, the state champions marched across campus and onto the newly installed athletic turf field, where the student body, teachers, administrators, parents, and community members cheered and offered their congratulations.

On Tuesday, October 18, we welcomed six alumnae to present to students about their specialized career field in Nursing. Students heard from a Cardiac Perfusionist, Infusion Nurse, Nursing Professor, Postpartum Nurse, NICU Nurse, and Hematology/Oncology Nurse. Alumnae explained their educational/college pathway, daily job responsibilities, the positive and negative parts of their job, and how McAuley has prepared them for college and the real world.

Last Week, our Peer Ministers participated in the Cook County Indigent Burial Ceremony at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Burying the Dead is a work of Mercy and our McAuley Peer Ministers were witness to this act of Mercy in action alongside students from Br. Rice and St. Lawrence. Thank you to Fr. Larry Sullivan, Bishop Wypych and Toni Preckwinkle, Cook County Board President, for leading the services. May we pray for the souls of all who were remembered.

The McAuley community gathered together on Wednesday, September 21 for our Opening All School Mass. During the Mass, Mrs. Carey Temple Harrington ‘86 was officially missioned by Ms. Kim Baxter of Mercy Education as our school President.

Mother McAuley is thrilled to announce that Curtis Lewis has been named the varsity basketball coach and assistant athletic director, effective immediately. Lewis brings more than 15 years of basketball coaching experience, a winning track record at various levels of competition including the collegiate level as a graduate assistant, and first-hand knowledge of the NCAA/NAIA recruiting policies, regulations, and admissions requirements.

On September 7, Mother McAuley and Brother Rice students participated in the Best of Both Worlds Bags Tournament on the Brother Rice football stadium. 93 team competed, and the students enjoyed food trucks and music.

Congratulations to the 2022 College Board’s National Recognition Program awardees! 14 Mother McAuley students have been named National African American Recognition and National Hispanic Recognition Awardees! These academic honors recognize students for excelling on College Board assessments and in their classrooms!

We had a MIGHTY day out on the golf course for our annual Fore the Macs: Playing it Forward Golf Outing on Thursday, August 25, 2022. Thank you to everyone who joined us for Tee-ing our students up for success. Rain or shine, our Mighty Mac community never fails to support our Macs!

The Mighty Mac volleyball team played Joliet Catholic in the first game of the year on August 23. MacNation came out to show their support as the team won in two games.

Every year at the Fore the Macs: Playing it Forward Golf Outing, we honor an alum with the Caring Heart Award in honor of Caroline Griffin '12.
This year’s Caring Heart Recipient is Betsy Ross Ready '94. Betsy advocates for mental health in her daily life, through her work with Loving Outreach to Survivors of Suicide (LOSS), Our Lady of the Woods, and the WNBA Chicago Sky.

The winner of this raffle will have one year of Mother McAuley High School tuition PAID IN FULL for the 2022-2023 school year or $12,000 cash. Online sales will close on Saturday, August 13th at midnight. The winner will be drawn on Sunday, August 14th. Winner need not be present.

On Sunday, May 15, Mother McAuley graduated 209 women in the graduating Class of 2022 at the Shannon Center located on the campus of Saint Xavier University. This graduating class joins more than 28,500 alumnae of Mother McAuley.
