This portal will serve as the center for all information and detail regarding senior events for the remainder of the school year.
We share in your excitement about the events surrounding the conclusion of senior year and are grateful for your continued support of Mother McAuley High School.

Graduation
Graduation Student Speaker Application
Each year a McAuley senior student is selected by her peers to represent the senior class as the Graduation Student Speaker. This student will prepare and deliver a speech addressing the Administration, faculty, guests and graduates at the commencement ceremony on Sunday, May 15.
Any student who is interested should fill out the application listed below. All applications are due no later than 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday, April 12th. The senior class will vote to select the Graduation Student Speaker upon our return from Easter Break.

Mandatory Graduation Practice
Graduation practice will be held on Friday, May 13 from 8:15 - 9:30 a.m. Seniors will meet in the Student Lounge. All students who wish to participate in the formal commencement ceremony on Sunday, May 15 are required to attend graduation practice.
Graduation
Graduation will be held on Sunday, May 15 at 12:00 p.m. at the Shannon Center located on the campus of Saint Xavier University. In accordance with the current public health guidance from the City of Chicago, St. Xavier has moved to a mask-optional campus.
The entire commencement ceremony lasts a little under two hours. Each senior will receive eight tickets to the ceremony. Handicapped seating is available at the Shannon Center on a first come first serve basis. All guests must have a ticket in order to enter the Shannon Center (including any child 4 and over). Please note that all tuition, fines, and disciplinary obligations must be taken care of in order to participate in graduation. Students will pick up their tickets as well as their graduation lawn sign during their lunch period on Thursday, May 5. Other details of the ceremony will be sent closer to the date.

Graduation Glove Sale
Purchased gloves can be picked up at Macs Ltd. on the following days:
Tuesday, May 3 from 6 pm- 8 pm
Wednesdays, May 4 and May 11 during lunch periods!

Hand-drawn Portraits
Celebrate your Class of 2022 graduate with a hand drawn portrait which will be a lasting legacy. Each hand drawing is unique and personalized to feature your graduate and her accomplishments at McAuley. Local artist, Wendy Evans Lundberg, will detail each graduate with name, hair color, and school activities. All portraits are $125 and come with a choice of a gold orsilverframe. Finished artwork measures 11"x 14". Orders due April 30.
Additional Events & Announcements
College Decision Day
Wear your college shirt/sweatshirt with your uniform kilt and join your classmates for a light breakfast at 7:15 in the Main Gym on Tuesday, May 3rd hosted by the Counseling Department. The Class of 2022 Decision Day picture will be taken promptly at 7:45 in the Main Gym. Do not miss out on this fun McAuley senior tradition!
Alumnae Induction & Breakfast
The Class of 2022’s Alumnae Induction will take place at our all school closing prayer service on Friday, May 6th at 1:45. Senior parents are invited to attend.
Last Day of School
The Class of 2022’s last official day of class will be Wednesday, May 11th. Seniors will be off from school on Thursday, May 12 and are encouraged to attend the Baccalaureate Mass that evening with their parents. All students who wish to participate in the formal commencement ceremony will have mandatory graduation practice on Friday, May 13.
Baccalaureate Mass
The Class of 2022’s Baccalaureate Mass will be held on Thursday, May 12th at 7:00 p.m. in the Auditorium. This is a memorable night for our senior students and their parents to experience together. Students are expected to dress up (no jeans) and look their absolute best for this wonderful occasion. A reception will follow for our senior families after the mass.
Senior Academy Awards
Senior Academy Awards will take place for all senior students on Friday, May 13th from 9:30 - 11:30 a.m. in the Auditorium immediately following graduation practice. The renowned McAuley version of The Oscars will include a senior class slideshow and faculty tribute.
Prom
Prom Ticket Sales
Prom tickets will be sold Monday, April 11 - Wednesday, April 13 during student lunch periods. Tickets are $145/per single and $290/per couple. Checks can be made out to Mother McAuley High School. All students must bring their full payment and signed permission form.
Tuition balances must be completed and paid in full by April 11th in order to purchase a prom ticket. Please contact Mrs. Mary Kay O’Connell in the Finance Office at (773) 881-6506 with any questions regarding tuition. No tickets will be sold after the deadline.
Prom
Prom will take place on Friday, April 29, 2022 and will be held at The Drake Hotel in downtown Chicago. Seniors will be off of school this day. All McAuley students and their guests will be required to ride the provided coach bus transportation to and from The Drake. Seniors and their guests must arrive at McAuley no later than 6:15. Students will enter through the Circle Drive doors and will report to their assigned room for check in. No parents or family members will be permitted to enter the school building or be in the Circle Drive foyer. Any student who arrives late and misses the bus will not be able to attend prom. Refunds will not be given once tickets are purchased.
Prom will run from 7:30 - 11:30 p.m. At the conclusion of the dance, students will board their designated bus and will head back to Mother McAuley. Students will arrive back to school around midnight and are responsible for making arrangements ahead of time for transportation upon their return to McAuley.
